Current Mission

To welcome the Afghan families resettling in our community and support them in their transition to life in Northern Virginia.

We collaborate with Bakhita Kids and partner with devoted community members to bring much needed resettling support to Afghan families. These charities connect us directly with families so we can meet the immediate needs of each individual family, as well as provide our continued support to help ensure families establish themselves in the community.

Additionally, we will to continue to visit with new families each week and shower our Muslim brothers and sisters with the love of the one, true God, whom we delightfully share in common.

Please consider supporting these families as they start a new life in America.

What we need:

Automobiles
Free Housing
Gift cards & Metro cards
Sewing machines, clothing fabric & upholstery fabric, patterns, thread, & notions
Cars & bikes/helmets (transportation to work)
Blankets & new pillows
New or gently used winter coats and boots
New clothing only
Feminine hygiene products (pads)
Masks & hand sanitizer
Smart TVs (to connect to wifi)
Tablets (iPad, Fire, etc.)
Portable washers & dryers
Kitchen items, dish soap, toiletries, laundry & cleaning supplies
Pots & pans, pressure cookers, blenders, & fryers
New or gently used toys, games & coloring supplies
Furniture & household items
Nice to have: picture frames, wall art, home accessories, etc.
What we don't need: short-sleeved tee-shirts or halter tops; women's shorts; mini-skirts, or swimsuits; no pork products

We use 100% of all donations to purchase items needed for families.

We deliver all purchased and donated items directly to families. Thank you to those who continue to donate to Cherubs for Change. We are currently not a registered charity and donations made directly to Cherubs for Change are not tax deductible. However, funds donated to our partner organization Bakhita Kids, a 501(c)(3), through the link below will be used to serve our mission. Please note any and all donations made via our website to Bakhita Kids will exclusively be used to help only children ages 0-13 and are tax deductible. Any gift card donations made to Cherubs for Change are not tax deductible and may be used to serve the needs of all ages.
